Katy Smail was born and raised under the purple skies and scruffy trees of rural Scotland. She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a First-Class Honours degree in Illustration, then moved to Brooklyn, NY for ten years, to work as an illustrator, painter, and art director. She is now back in her homeland, happy to be surrounded by the inspiration of verdant wildflowers and moody hills again. Her expressive florals and dreamy portraits have been used across homewares, stationery, publishing, advertising and fashion.
