I'm wondering if the Elephant is floating away without gravity or if the image is of an elephant swimming, and the water has been cleared so as to see the elephant clearly. This amazing illustration of an Elephant floating in the air take's Ratliff's work in a new but familiar direction. Jason Ratliff himself describes the new range as "a series of images untethered."
