We Love Our Community! A Tour Of East London’s Art Hotspots

28th Jul 2022

East London is a vibrant area full of art, food and culture. Located right at the heart of the area on Brick Lane, we’re in the perfect position to tell you about some of the cultural hotspots that East London has to offer.

East London Art

East London is absolutely full of art. With its vast markets and shops (like us) selling work lovingly created by independent artists, there’s plenty to be explored for an art-lover in the area.

Shoreditch is a real hotspot for street art, and you can even take walking tours that will show you around some of the very best street art on offer North of the Thames.

If street art isn’t your thing, there are lots of galleries in the area and you can visit Whitechapel gallery or even venture over to the Barbican.

Spitalfields Market

Spitalfields market in E1 serves as a showcase for many of the unique artists and small businesses that East London has to offer.

Along with its usual stalls, the space hosts a specialist Spitalfields art market for a weekend each month. Showcasing known and emerging artists, it’s a great opportunity to pick up something unique.

Of course, if you miss that weekend, we’re right around the corner with art prints from some of East London’s most exciting up and coming artists and illustrators.

Columbia Road Flower Market

Be sure to stop by Columbia Road on Sunday mornings from 8am for a beautiful array of plants and flowers that will be sure to put a smile on your face. The market has everything you could need to help you create a green space in your home that compliments your floral art and celebrates the beauty of East London. Columbia Road market has grown dramatically since the 80s, and now, coupled with the unique shops that line the streets, it makes for one of the most interesting shopping experiences in London.

Truman Brewery

Just a stone's throw from our Brick Lane shop is The Truman Brewery, East London’s hub for unique art and media. Formerly the world's largest brewery, the space has been repurposed to provide space for artists, small businesses and events.

The Truman Brewery hosts record fairs, craft fairs and exhibitions alongside its regular line up of shops and restaurants for you to try out.

The Food Of East London

East London is an exciting, sociable community – so it’s no real surprise that there are a ton of brilliant food places right by our shop located on Brick Lane.

Our personal favourites are the nearby stir fry Korean sprouts and churros, we might even indulge in a bubble tea every now and then from one of our nearby neighbours.

Artists & Makers in East London

East London is a celebration of diverse art and talented creators. Visit our store to check out some of the very best prints that local artists have to offer or visit a nearby makers market to get your hands on a unique piece for your home.
