Six Spookily Good Gallery Wall Hacks

As we all look to spending quite a bit more time in our homes we have some tricks and treats to rejuvenate your home space as we hunker down for the colder months. Everyone loves a doable home project and the home wall art hacks below are doubly as good because once you've finished you get to enjoy your handy work everyday!

Lean in

Now whether you're precious about making holes in your walls (or live with someone who is) or are living in rented accommodation not everyone can go hammering nails in willy-nilly. If this is you, there are a lot of ways you can enjoy beautiful art in your home without marking up the walls. The beauty of a print being framed is it that it becomes a sturdy object that can support itself. So leaning your favourite framed print against the wall on a shelf or on top of a dresser is an instant fix. This is particularly good as you can play with height and scale to still get that mix and match look of a gallery wall whilst working on one level.

The Neat Look

There is something to be said for keeping a set of prints in line. If you have a series or set of prints that are all the same size, working in a grid can look really chic. The key is choosing one or two elements to keep the same to achieve the balance. For example set the distance between each print and keep it the same for the set or choose one frame colour to unify.

The Eclectic Mix

Messy and riotous more your style? Go wild. There are only a few rules you can consider - and we really do mean consider because when it comes to creating a gallery wall it is by far and away the best idea to be led by what your like and the space you're working with. Being playful with scale, can seem daunting, especially when you're trying to work it out virtually if ordering online. We suggest trying the 1, 2, 3 rule. This works by choosing a one large framed print such as an A1, then two in a different size such as A3 and then three in yet another size like A2. Working with 6 prints in 3 sizes can be a useful template as you can create pairs within the set and have stand alone statement sized pieces too.

Magnetic pull

Speaking of magnets, our magnetic frames - available in our Brick Lane shop are the EASIEST way to show off your unframed prints safely and stylishly. You will need a nail to hang one of these from to keep it up and in tip top condition but similarly with the pin board, you could hook one of these onto a cork pin and keep your walls hole free.

Don't scrimp on colour and texture

Colour is proven to brighten and lift mood. Living around (and apparently eating) colourful things is something that is beneficial to our mental wellbeing - something we definitely all need to be mindful of going forwards. Bring in your favourite colours to liven up your space. Sometimes all it takes is one or two splashes of a single or clashing colours to turn a space, and your outlook around. Our limited editions collection is all about adding the extra special touches to your home wall art that takes you from a generic look to personal one. Whether you catch the eye with a metallic flash, add the 3d look of a lush Lino cut block or the zinging layering of a screen print, editions go the extra mile.

Pin for the win!

We love a pin board here in the EEP office. Now, we aren't suggesting you go sticking pins in your beautiful prints, however, fixing prints onto a cork or magnetic board which can then be lent up on a desk or shelf is a quick way to safely display prints that don't have a frame.
