Printed with Love - Talented print and card makers to look out for at the East End Design Fair!

Posted by Rebeca Romero on 16th Sep 2016

The east end design fair is only a week away and we couldn’t be more excited! Curated by the lovely people of Urban makers east and in collaboration with East End prints, this open air, family event is one not to miss!

Lovers of all things print we are thrilled to have some talented print and card makers as part of the fair. Wanna take a look at what will be on show? Here a sneak peek:

Jenni Allen

Jenni graduated from Middlesex University in 2001 with a BA in Printed Textiles and have worked for a number of designers, arts organisations and print studios. "My inspiration comes from anything and everything. A myriad of found imagery & objects along with my own drawings and photographs are the basis from which my work emerges. I quite often focus on elements that can be transformed into a geometric or repeated graphic"

Ink Onk

Jeremy is a printmaker living in west London. He takes most of his inspiration from the natural world and I uses a mixture of bold illustration and intricate mark making to create distinctive images. Using traditional Linocut techniques to create embossed graphic images that are an amalgamation of modern and classic styles.

All of his work is hand drawn, hand carved and hand printed by myself using the highest quality materials. This gives the prints a quirkiness, an inbuilt imperfection and that makes Jeremy happy.

Tiff Howick

Tiff is inspired by nature and influenced by my Scandinavian heritage, she love vintage picture books and contemporary fashion illustration. Tiff likes to create bold and simple images with limited colour palettes and interesting textures, the loose lines of her drawings suggest movement and energy. Each screenprint is handpulled in a studio in East London, using water-based inks and acid-free, sustainably sourced paper. The handmade nature of this process creates subtle differences in every print, making each one unique.

Meraki Meraki

Founded in 2015 I produce a range of prints from original illustrations inspired by wildlife and the art of making. Every print is sketched, designed, printed and carefully hand-finished to the highest quality in my London studio. With a unique selection of illustrations available in a range of colours and sizes you are sure to find the perfect gift.

Elviravdesigns

Elvira studied printed textile design at The Royal College of art. She then setup a textile studio selling her and other designers work worldwide to fashion and furnishing companies. She has over 20 years experience in the design world selling to top designers in London, Paris, Milan, New York and Japan.

Elvira is now branching out on her own to create her own range of greetings cards, gift wrap and prints. Future projects will be designing a scarf collection which should be out early fall.

Dickens ink. is run from my home studio in East London UK.

Ilke started Dickens ink. after the birth of her two children and realising a full-time job and childcare just wasn't going to work. So whilst on holiday in the South of France she hatched a plan. It remained a dream for over a year but after her son was born she summoned up the courage and quit my job.

"My design inspirations come from my favourite decades the 50s and 20s, my children and from this fabulous city I call home. "

Join us this 24th & 25th September and meet the makers! East End Prints will be showcasing their colourful new print collection inspired by London and all things Jazz, just in time to welcome autumn!
