Spring has Sprung! 4 interior decor trends for spring and summer 2016

Spring’s coming and experts in interior design have already made up their minds to what will be trending this spring and summer in homes around the world.

Metallic Objects

This season will bring, metallic finishing, mostly silver and bronzes. Its applications are many: from lamps to bedside tables or shelves, and also all kinds of accessories. Increasingly, metallic objects are here to stay and decorate our home. Copper lamps are trendy and they create very interesting environments: from more rounded shapes to more industrial and geometric lines. Copper is sustainable, durable and impact resistant. In addition its color stands out with its own personality and it can be incorporated in any room.

The colour of the season is rose quartz

The Pantone Institute, which publishes every year a comprehensive study predicting the more used colours in all design fields, has spoken. Definitely this season we will use very relaxed colours, colours that are committed to stability and calm, in contrast to the vibrant colours usually related to technology. So if you want to disconnect from the virtual world in decoration we will use the rose quarz and the blue serenity.

Geometrical patterns and shapes

Geometric patterns were never out of fashion, especially in sping and summer of 2016. An influence that we inherited from the 60s but we learned quickly to adapt perfectly to modern and even minimalist spaces. In this sense, the mosaics are more popular than ever, combining perfectly with woods and open spaces. Other uses of geometrical patterns are pillows, decoration pieces and wall art.

Crafts and Handmade objects

Hand-made objects will also have their significant role in 2016. A trend that seeks to embrace the more traditional roots and bring crafts to our homes. For example, ceramics, objects made of wood or teak furniture are the ideal contrast to any contemporary interior.
