The East End Print Fair has been running now for two weeks at The Proud Archivist's gallery space
have you already visited it? In case you haven't , I've got news for you: It's more than just prints!
The East End Print Fair is proud to present the beautiful wood work of Phillip Sheffield.
Five years ago Helen and Phil were talking about London lyric ideas for an exhibition The One Ton Show - 100
artists, 100 artworks about lyrics about London , only 5 years late but we love it!
We have always been fascinated by local history and Oranges and Lemons, the traditional rhyme referring to
the different peals of bells at six churches in the vicinity of the City of London is one of our favourite stories.
Phil's typography wooden pieces are something that must be seen on the flesh ! Handcrafted one of a kind playful
pieces that will make you feel a bit nostalgic.
Say the bells of St. Clement's.
You owe me five farthings,
Say the bells of St. Martin's.
When will you pay me?
Say the bells of Old Bailey.
When I grow rich,
Say the bells of Shoreditch.
When will that be?
Say the bells of Stepney.
I do not know,
Says the great bell of Bow.
Here comes a candle to light you to bed,
And here comes a chopper to chop off your head!
